Digital Marketing Assistant

Contract Type: Internship
Duration: 3 Months (Position to be reviewed at end of contract)
Location: Remote (Must have access to a laptop and smart phone)

General Description

We are looking for an experienced Digital Marketing Assistant to assist in the planning, execution and optimisation of our online marketing efforts. The promotion of events and breaking news through digital channels is a complex procedure with great potential for customer reach and engagement, which is increasingly useful for our brand. The ideal candidate will have a passion for all things marketing and technology as well as a love for Urban music and events. You will be well-versed in the concepts surrounding digital marketing and how the Internet can become a strong asset to securing a growing audience. You will be tech-savvy and intuitive with great ideas to reinforce our marketing campaigns.



·       Keep up-to-date with UK Urban music, fashion, small businesses and breaking news
·       Assist in the formulation of strategies to build a lasting digital connection with brand audience
·       Provide creative ideas for content marketing
·       Measure performance of digital marketing efforts using Web analytics and insight tools
·       Provide strategies to increase social media reach and engagement
·       Oversee all social media posts to ensure they are in line with the image and voice of the brand

Social Media Management

·       Plan, deliver and monitor the ongoing brand presence on social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc.)
·       Effectively manage cross-platform social marketing
·       Update social media with latest Urban music and culture news in line with the brands image
·       Work with the Events Management team to create a plan and schedule online promotion for the upcoming events
·       Prepare online newsletter and promotional emails through Mailchimp
·       Upload and promote visual media through YouTube

Web Content Management

·       Identify “Newsjacking” opportunities
·       Create daily blog posts with short news articles
·       Pro-active in sourcing material for music, fashion, event and video reviews
·       Source artists and creatives for the interviews
·       Update website and blog using our drag-and-drop Content Management System
·       Source guest writers for extensive articles


·       Proven experience in Digital Marketing or similar role
·       Excellent understanding of digital marketing concepts and best practices
·       Experience with email marketing tools (Mailchimp)
·       Experience with CMS (e.g., Squarespace, Wordpress)    
·       Working knowledge of ad serving tools on social media platforms (e.g., Facebook Ads)
·       Working knowledge of content scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Later)
·       Skills and experience in creative content writing
·       High attention to detail
·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
·       Ideally have experience working in live music or events company, but not essential
·       Educated to degree level or equivalent desired but not essential
