You might not yet have heard of New Zealand producer Theolonius Kelly, he’s somewhat elusive. But over the past few years, he’s been releasing a steady stream of slappers, working with some of the underground’s finest including Lil B and F1lthy, carving out a signature dark trap - come - industrial sound.

‘Underground’ can be a contentious, and sometimes limiting, term but on ‘Blood Donor’ his newest offering featuring Awful’s Lord Narf, we hear the full potential of the freedom to experiment and collaborate that comes with vying away from the mainstream.

Kelly says that on this track he wanted to ‘have some fun’ and Narf matches this. She bursts onto the leaned out, industrial production, gnarly and irreverent ‘If I want that shit I’ll take it’. Full of venom, show ‘crooked teeth on me no braces, I’ll bite a bitch’s head off’. 

Adrenaline fuelled and delightfully wonky, this one is straight for the mosh pit, or in the current circumstances perhaps the socially distant skate mix. Regardless, Kelly’s got our blood pumping, proving himself one to watch.
