Well, if I was doing my top discoveries of the year, Local Geezers would definitely be at the top. The Derby repping collective have really provided a blast of fresh air into the UK rap scene and are opening the doors for many high-spirited Nothern MC’s to compete with the best. Local Geezers is an amalgamation of 4 key characters - rappers Wizzdumb and JimiDaKilla; producer and engineer Ted Loco; and video director Rufus Wilson - but never forget, Local Geezers is a lifestyle.

Our line of focus today is JimiDaKilla who is set to drop his next anthem ‘Count Your Money’, the follow up to his statement track ‘Slave To The Wave’. CYM is a draw out to all the clout chasers that don’t see their own worth past their wallet. If you’ve ever met the Geezer, you would know that he radiates buoyant energy and lives for his music to inspire positivity in its listener, which really comes through in this track.

Joining Jimi on the track is another 2019 standout, Kish! with a quickfire verse to cap off the tune with finesse. When you see Kish! on the credits, best know it’s due to be a gut-punching execution with cascading original flows that make him stand out from the rest in his class. Ted Loco does a brilliant job of providing a sinister yet bouncy backing track for the MC’s to display their pen game. This one is for the real heads that mess with the new wave of UK rap. ‘Count Your Money’ will be available all streaming platforms on 12th December and is the first single off JimiDaKilla’s debut solo EP set to drop in early 2020.
