While going through a Youtube rabbit hole recently, I came across Dessireé's first record and music video for ‘Want You To Be Mine’. I was sold. On Dessireé's latest release, ‘Ladybug’, she sings about her painful journey of growth, understanding her place in society and evolving into who she is today. Prior to the release of the music video, Dessireé put together a video on IGTV that features women answering questions like "What Does Female Mean to You?", "Was Your Transition to Womanhood Hard?", "When Did You Know You Were Turning Into a Woman?".

I think my song is the only good thing about this day due to the conservatives actually winning. I wrote and produced this song a year ago when I was undergoing a lot of changes as woman. I was growing in my confidence, my body, my intelligence and my power. I felt that before when I was naive to things and had not learnt through experience there was less pain and problems. But now I understand it’s a beautiful pain to grow and evolve into who you are. Finally understanding my place in society is the inspiration behind this song and I hope that no matter your gender you connect to the song and watch the video because it’s so amazing and I love it and hope you love it too .
