Roundup: Playlist Party UK February 2019
Last week The Pit London & Kimani Moore Ent. partnered with Ticketmaster Artist Services to bring an event where you control the sound! Artists and music industry professionals alike gathered in the quirky basement venue of Ticketmaster HQ for an intimate listening party style event full of exclusive music, a publishing Q&A with Dan Owusu of BMG and an amazing live performance from rising star Weyland McKenzie to cap off the night. The night also boasted a surprise appearance from UK’s power couple Stormzy and Maya Jama!
Music heard on the night ranged from the hard-hitting sounds of Kwazi Cort with his forthcoming hit ‘Please Don’t Boast’ with a feature from one of the UK’s most prolific drill artists to the Jazz fuelled melodies of duos Ka-Li and GeeJay. The crowd was filled with Playlist Party regulars such as the Common Roots collective who always strive to bring something fresh and are never afraid to test the waters, using the event platform for its very purpose. The night also welcomed some distant travellers - Local Geezers representing Derby played a serious head banger whilst Ireland’s AikJ could be seen networking in the crowd.
