Can you tell us about the inspiration behind your latest track, "Lotto"? What message or feeling were you trying to convey with this song?
It is a true story. About a childhood love, I wanted to convey the feelings of the start of every relationship. Love, romance and joy.
"Lotto" explores the theme of love in a unique way. What made you choose the metaphor of winning the lottery to describe the intensity of your feelings in the song?
The Lottery is a big deal in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. Winning the Lotto in Nigeria is a massive achievement, so comparing a relationship to winning the lottery is a good way to convey how much the relationship meant to me .
Your music blends traditional Afrobeats with a contemporary twist. How do you go about creating your signature sound, and what artists or experiences have influenced your style?
I feel like my music has always incorporated various elements from different genres in my music. My father is also a musician, so I feel like it comes natural to me. Artists that have inspired me are my friends like Olamide, who gave me one of my most successful songs, “loading”.
You've had a remarkable journey in the music industry, from skits and freestyles to signing with Anonymous Music. Could you share some of the key moments and challenges that have shaped your career?
Opening up for Fire Boy DML, anyone you ask about that concert will tell you about Bad Boy Timz. It was so good I performed an unreleased song.
our track "MJ" gained tremendous popularity, even leading to a remix with Mayorkun. How did this collaboration come about, and what was it like working with another talented artist?
The MJ song was popping everywhere at the time and about 5 artists reached out for the remix including Teni, so we decided to go with Mayorkun. Working with other artists is always a great experience. Teni was on the 2nd remix of MJ by the way.
Can you give us some insights into your creative process? How do you typically start working on a new song, from concept to final production?
I use people’s experiences and sometimes it’s abstract. Sometimes when you’re drinking and having a good time you want to make music, sometimes it just comes out of your subconscious.
What do you hope listeners take away from your music? Are there any particular messages or emotions you aim to evoke with your songs?
I always hope every song I release resonates with my fans on a spiritual level. Lottto is no different. I hope they feel the love and ambition from the song too.
With a growing fanbase and international recognition, what's next for Bad Boy Timz? Are there any upcoming projects or collaborations you can tease for your fans?
I have a lot of unreleased music with some amazing artists. Stay tuned

With everyday that passes, Afrobeats will penetrate more markets and reach wider audiences. I see myself at the forefront of this evolution.
