Cantona

Rising rapper Nevmore has aptly recruited Blah Records’ Black Josh for an ode to one of Old Trafford’s most notorious heroes. ‘Cantona’ is taken from the upcoming album which is expected mid-late summer time and will mark Nev’s second full drop. 2022 saw his debut album ‘Wellingborough Road’ enter all your favourite streaming services, with the lead single that time featuring Clbrks- two artists’ pull is better than one. This time Nev is recruiting from a similar scene through Black Josh, with production once again left to the very capable, and increasingly in-demand, Thugs Bunny.

“I recently broke up with my ex once again, it’s a common theme that has followed me over the last couple years, I’ve wanted to write a song about Manchester United and one of the players for a while and who better than Eric Cantona”- Nevmore

Somewhat of a role reversal for Black Josh who would’ve once been in Nevmore’s shoes, but now finds himself as the teacher rather than student and the experienced hand on the mic.  There are plenty of football, specifically Manchester United, references throughout so those who are clued up on the beautiful game can bask in the glory of understanding those… I was going to try and think of another myself, but I think I’ll leave that to the seasoned pros- ‘Cantona’ is out everywhere now.
