Chrome EP

Representing the Midlands, Birmingham's very own nineteen97 emerges on to the scene with 'Chrome EP', featuring the likes of Manga Saint Hilare.

Taking us on a journey, the debut-EP combines sound with a no-rules mentality intended for the listener to have their own interpretation of the project. Incorporating a variety of transitions we hear influences taken from genres such as future beats, techno, and dance, developing into a well-packaged, concise five-track soundscape that unapologetically leaves a moreish taste in your ears.

The previously released singles 'I Got' and 'Again' cemented the vision of nineteen97 across the spectrum, racking up impressive streams across digital platforms. With thanks to head-turning production from Lauren Ralph and OffKey, the two tracks paved a way for nineteen97 to construct a new lane of sounds merging grime and rap.

Stylist, is a subtle-screw-face vibe, with a murky energy nineteen97 enlists an unexpected line-up featuring two high-end verses from Manga Saint Hilare and Window Kid. As expected, both MC's provide contributions full of consecutive quotables sandwiched between nineteen97's patois' inflicted chorus.

Speaking on the release, BE83 Music Group spoke on its release alongside nineteen97:

nineteen97 continues to explore the alternative, experimental reals of Rap & Grime with providing beats & vibrant feature, pushing sonic boundaries & concepts while fusing cultures along the way.

Recognised as an introductory project, the feature list doesn't disappoint with guest vocals from Blue Room Mafia, Jesse James Solomon, Grim Sickers, Hunter Bavaro & Mayhem NODB. With marketing strategies high on the priority list, CHROMEfm was launched just days ago building hype around the project, and we can only hope merchandise is one of many other assets to accompany its release.

A prodigy definitely worth keeping an eye on as we anticipate further releases to follow later this year.
