Days Like This

West London songstress Safiyyah collaborates with noir-R&B singer KeepVibesNear and multi-instrumentalist Nikhil Beats on the video for their new single, ‘Days Like This’. Directed by Honey JD, the video is a subtle reminder that life is a gamble and to make the most out of the cards you are dealt.

When speaking about the song, Safiyyah stated that the song is:

A reminder for people that we all get stressed and have bad days but to relax and enjoy life’s beauties.

KeepVibesNear expresses his thoughts, explaining that:

The song is about being presenteven when life is piling on top of you. Appreciating the journey because you know things get hard but you push through regardless.

Of Portuguese and Moroccan descent, 23-year-old Safiyyah was born and raised in the heart of
West London. The singer/songwriter uses music to journey through relatable life experiences and themes of nostalgia, self-worth and relationships. Safiyyah’s debut EP ‘Third Eye’ created a big buzz across last year and made its way onto Jamz Supernova’s Top 5 EP list on BBC 1xtra. Raised in Romford with family ties in Nigeria, KeepVibesNear aka KVN is known for his mixture of lyricism and a sultry melodic sound that makes for honest heartfelt listening. With the looks of a 90s R&B superstar and a delivery that owes more to King Krule than D'Angelo, KVN has gained widespread support through releases such as ‘Days Get Better’, ‘What U Need’ and ‘Gently’.

Born and raised in East London, Nikhil Beats draws from a wide variety of influences and has carved out his own British-Asian sound. With an ever-expanding discography, he has worked with the likes of Finn Foxell, Danny Sanchez and Bawo to name a few. He recently headlined the Roundhouse Rising festival where he demonstrated his ability to switch effortlessly between singing and playing a wide variety of instruments including the keys, bass and electric guitar.

With all three artists working on separate projects, Safiyyah, KeepVibesNear and Nikhil Beats close the year on a high and raise the bar for the burgeoning scene they are a part of. Having recently performed the single live at Safiyyah’s sold-out show, the collaboration came about with ease between three friends who share the same day to day experiences.
