Giggs returns to Peckham to headline GALA Festival 2026
Giggs is coming home, and Peckham is ready. One of the most influential voices in UK rap will headline GALA Festival 2026, marking a powerful return to the neighbourhood where his career first took shape. Taking over Peckham Rye Park across the May Bank Holiday weekend, the moment feels less like a booking and more like a full circle celebration of legacy, community and culture.
Sharing top billing with Giggs is a heavyweight cast that reflects the depth of the UK underground and its global reach. CASISDEAD brings his cult mystique, D Double E delivers grime royalty energy, and Novelist represents the sharp edge of modern UK rap, with Hamdi adding bass driven firepower. David Rodigan’s presence nods to soundsystem heritage, while artists like Mala, Djrum, Conducta, Todd Edwards and Benji B stretch the spectrum from dub to UK garage to experimental club music. Friday alone moves seamlessly through rap, grime, bass and dance, setting the tone for one of GALA’s most sonically wide ranging openings yet.
The weekend continues with an expansive club focused journey. Saturday leans into house and techno while spotlighting queer expression and boundary pushing selectors, with standout names including Saoirse, DJ Seinfeld, Logic1000, Job Jobse, Sonja Moonear and Sedef Adasï. Sunday closes with warmth and musical depth as house and disco take centre stage, led by Seth Troxler, Lil’ Louis, Todd Terje and Gilles Peterson, joined by Cassy, Joe Claussell, Chaos In The CBD, Moxie and a rare three way set from Antal HUNEE and Palms Trax.
Still proudly independent, GALA remains one of London’s most respected festivals, built on a community led ethos that prioritises connection, care and creativity. With stage takeovers from Rinse FM, NTS, Deviation, Refuge Worldwide and more, the message is clear. The Floor Is Ours, and in Peckham, with Giggs at the helm, it truly feels that way.
