Gridlock
Nevmore is back, and this time he is bringing the traffic with him. “Gridlock” sees Northampton’s peculiar favourite return from his Neville Moore character era with a jumpy, bass heavy banger produced by longtime collaborator Backseat DJ, aka Leo. The track captures the frustration of being stuck in traffic while desperately trying to get some food, turning everyday chaos into something surprisingly entertaining.
Nevmore delivers sharp lyricism, an infectious hook and plenty of observations about pressure, distractions and trying to reach your destination, while South London’s CHIMZ crashes in with an energetic verse that gives the track an extra kick. CHIMZ, who blends grime, hip hop, R&B and soul, has already picked up support from Capital Xtra’s DJ Semtex for “Heaven”.
Following Nevmore’s 2025 mixtape TOYA, which featured Tom Penny and Renelle 893, “Gridlock” feels like a fresh chapter. Backseat DJ’s moody production, CHIMZ’s flow and Nevmore’s eccentric energy make this one a fun ride.
