Heat

On a mission to integrate cultures together, KJ Spio is one of the few artists to continuously merge West Africa and the UK musically. Closing out the summer with the ultimate sultry anthem titled “Heat”, Spio enlists fellow hit-makers KiDi and Stalk Ashley for a track oozing with vibrancy. Boasting a catalogue with features from Oxlade, Gyakie, Konshens, Sarkodie, Ambré, Harmonize, Libianca, and many more, KJ Spio has become a true tastemaker within British music.

Underlined with a slick production courtesy of Crumz [Krept & Konan, Tion Wanye, Mr Eazi, Tinie Tempah] we are graced with KiDi’s infectious melodies and silk-like vocals. Later joined by Swift Ashley, the pair detail a night of passion with a fellow love interest. Offering perspectives from both sides of the coin, “Heat” is a track that instantly commands your attention. A seamless collaboration brought to us by KJ Spio, his trailblazing status is reiterated once more with another stand-out single.

When asked how the single came about KJ Spio explained, “KiDi and myself have been working on several records together in the studio in search of a new sound which fuses classic Ghana highlife music with R&B. Through the process we came up with a few records including ‘Heat’, I tried several vocalist’s on the feature but Stalk Ashley, someone I always wanted to work with, came up with the sweetest melodies and vocals.”
