In2you

Zimbabwean-born artist Downtown Kayoto, who also goes by Chiko Chinyadza, releases a spectacular noughties yet modern single In2you since his last release back in 2021.

The Hull-raised singer had built a substantial credible name in the industry so far. With shared love from the likes of BBC Radio 1, being named “Future Artist” as well as Nick Grimshaw, Jack Saunders, Gemma Bradley, CLASH Magazine and GUAP Magazine. The list continues.

Teaming up with producer, Frankie Scoca, Downtown Kayoto has extreme commercial potential with the new track In2you. This track merges classic garage, and modern RnB with a bit of noughties pop. With autotune being a popular texture added to vocals to add a futuristic spin to a mix, In2you is a perfectly executed example of this.

This song may leave listeners with a false sense of security when it comes to dating, don’t be fooled. Stay strong brothers and sisters. The happy vibes, upbeat and general serotonin-filled song is described by Kayoto:

‘In2you’ is a song about affection, love, crushes and everything in relationships. I wanted to talk about nuances in past situationships that I, and many other people have experienced too. At the end of the day this shit is hard. Dating is a nightmare and when you think you’ve found the one, there’s always this thing of “I like you but...” and “I want to be with you but…” but what? Right person wrong time? Past trauma? It’s not me it’s you? So I made this song in response to the emotional unavailability - ‘l love you baby but I’m through’‘.

After the popularity of his previous EP NAVIG8, it will be super interesting to see what Downtown Kayoto does with his next project and where it will land him this time.
