Mazzalean / Headtop Buss From Luss

The infinitely effortless Bawo delves through nostalgic mediation on his softly perusing double-sided single Mazzalean / Headtop Buss From Luss.

The West-Londoner has one of the smoothest flows you are likely to hear in UK rap, peppering his instrumentals with playful bars and nonchalant musings. Bawo has developed and experimented with his sound over the past few years, offering sun-laden vibes like Brasilerio and opaque cuts on his underrated ’21 EP Live & Let Thrive.

The new drop sees Bawo stray further from convention than ever before. Mazzalean is a gentle, melodic and introspective effort revolving around a conversation with a lover. Bawo’s flow remains as sharp as ever, but his tone is delicate and intimate, with a subtle guitar-led instrumental the palette for his pensive reverie. Headtop Buss From Luss is more reminiscent of the artist we know, with atmospheric synths, pacy drums and booming bass the backdrop for Bawo’s spirited delivery, thoughtful bars and snappy flow.

Known in alt rap circles as one of the most talented, hotly-tipped spitters in the UK, we expect Bawo to continuing leading the charge for stylistic development and rightful wider acclaim for the sub-sound.
