Monsters

London based singer songwriter Bianca Rose drops off profound and powerful single ‘Monsters’, accompanied by a conceptually focused visual. An artist of British, Jamaican and Nigerian decent, Bianca’s music stands out in the alternative R&B field through her stunning vocal ability, unique tonality and heartfelt, astute lyricism. Fresh off a strong 2020, releasing hits like ‘Blood In The Water’ and ‘Build Me Up Buttercup’, the artist takes her sonic exploration and penmanship to an elevated stance.

The beat has a sorrowful groove, with lively bass and percussion complimented by distorted synth melodies, mellow guitar chords and buttery vocal harmonies. The fierce, focused thematic morality and wistful delivery are incredibly compelling, with the lyricism analogical and authentic as the narrator admits to being “So sick and tired of feeling so sick and tired.” Commenting on the narrative themes, Bianca recalled

When I wrote ‘Monsters’ the world looked really different. I wrote the hook literally to release my emotions after hearing and again seeing a racist murder on social media - Ahmaud Arbery. I remember thinking ‘WHY ISN’T EVERYONE SICK TO THEIR STOMACHS AND OUTRAGED BY THIS?!’ I just felt so sick and tired. It felt like there were monsters that only black and brown people could clearly see and have to contend with.

Joining hotly tipped talent Jake Isaac on his upcoming tour and bursting with skill and acumen, expect Bianca Rose to rise above the bubbling surface by the end of the year.
