Motions Remixes

B-ahwe’s dazzling sonic canvas’ get a new lick of paint with two reworked singles from her EP Motions.

Re-stylised remixes are an increasing popular way of accentuating artistic resonance and highlighting a producer’s sonic ethos; a win-win for both creators. Always pushing the boundaries musically, the highly talented soulstress B-ahwe, recognised for her delicate work with Lausse the Cat and Nix Northwest, enlists the nuance of two hotly-tipped producers, Tommy Villiers and apltn

Tommy Villiers, known for being one half of big hitting DnB duo piri&tommy, gets his hands on one of the singles from the EP Circles, giving it a dance-laden makeover, with B-ahwe’s spacey vocals combining seamlessly with Villiers’ giddy percussion and consuming instrumental palette. Leeds nu-jazz beatmaker manipulates Fall Into into a choppy, experimental and wistful college of texture, bringing together a cut that is encompassing and endearing.

Speaking on the tracks, B-ahwe commented:

It’s really beautiful to collaborate with old musical friends and hear their takes on my music. Creating absolute skankemz from my hella emotional pieces, it’s incredible to see!

The remixes succeed in staying true to the original whilst manufacturing a completely different end product. We can’t wait for some fresh B-ahwe!
