Namaste

Zino Vinci, the East London emcee, returns to the scene after a yearlong break with brilliant throwback single, Namaste. 

Since Zino’s been gone he’s been honing his craft and focusing on bettering himself, and the results seem to show on this new track. The grime inspired tune features cinematic shots of the borough of Newham, as the young star raps around his crew in a circle, capturing the energy of an early UK rap cypher. 

The video is directed by Luke Annett, and is equipped with nostalgic references to Simon Wheatley, and Channel U, the iconic TV music channel that helped launch the careers of Dizzee, Wiley, and Kano, artists all hailing from the period in which this song pays clever homage to. 

Produced by acclaimed beatmaker WIZE with expert clattering hi-hats, soulful vocal samples, and wistful keys, the 2000s UK era instrumental lays the perfect backdrop for Zino’s smooth raps, with standout, tongue in cheek lines like “the ladies love the kid cause I’m true to myself, I’m a nerdy boy, just did another show got paid and I spent half the change on some marvel toys”. 

The wordsmith’s talent is on full display with this one, with refreshing verses, and impeccable breath control - his breathless flows are remarkable, and leave us questioning why more people aren’t up on the Zino Vinci hype yet.
