Next Spring

Jazz soulstress B-ahwe pairs up with Lewis Moody to release new track Next Spring, discussing reflections on a past relationship with the optimistic perspective of “spring” symbolising growth and positivity.

So far, B-ahwe has created and release a couple of projects already the first being Nuance released in 2020 and another in 2021 called Motions. Since her debut release she has accumulated support from a large number of people like Jack Saunders, Sian Eleri, Jamz Supernova, Gilles Peterson, and Tony Minvielle.

On the track, B-ahwe comments:

The song started out as my own jazz standard, but working together with Lewis brought a fresh sound to the story, bridging together influences old and new. It’s about using hindsight to reflect in a healthy way, rather than giving in to negativity.

The track opens with a piano (which can only be imagined as a shiny grand piano) and then introduces listeners to B-ahwe’s glittery vocals. It’s only after 50 seconds of the song when listeners will start to hear the humming undertones of strings in the productions. Kind of giving a similar energy of the section in Bambi when the rain starts pouring (Little April Shower) where there is this narrative your following through the music.

Following, after the first 1 minute 10 seconds listeners will hear the production shift upwards, drums are introduced and it feels ever so slightly more upbeat. But that might also just be the twinkle sounds.
