Catford rapper Deema has released his sophomore EP ‘RAINBOW EP’, accompanied by visuals for ‘I WISH I HAD TO’.

The fresh faced, intriguing rapper first burst onto the scene as the youngest member of grime collective The Square, which boasts the likes of Novelist as former members. After releasing his debut body of work last year, the diverse and vibrant EP ‘CHEW YOUR FOOD’, Deema is back with another helping of his bouncy, dynamic and irresistible alternative rap.

The project begins with the kaleidoscopic, video accompanied, ‘I WISH I HAD TO’. The track features a classic chopped up vocal sample and a sharp percussive groove as Deema flows smoothly, dropping off contemplative thoughts in inventive bars. Next up was the first single from the project, ‘CAN I?’, which is an upbeat, brazen cut with wandering bass, off-kilter keys and tongue-in-cheek sparring. The title track ‘RAINBOW’ follows, which is a certified head bop, with Deema gliding the sparse, eccentric instrumental with effortless charisma. The fourth and final track on the EP, ‘MAMA, DON’T JUDGE’ features alluring keys, naturalistic percussion and thought-provoking narration, as Deema illustrates his versatility and introspection.

An strikingly entertaining listening experience, Deema’s new EP provides buoyant energy, absorbing soundscapes and shrewd wordplay.
