Red & Blue

Shepherd’s Bush rapper Finn Foxell has picked up ‘23 where he left ‘22 with a Paul Carr produced single ‘Red & Blue’ out on Fair Youth Records.

For most, including myself, Finn Foxell means grimey beats and observant wordplay and although the latter stays intact, the direction of his sound has deviated somewhat. Whether they’re experimental or tactfully thought through, the indie-rock fused beats actually play rather nicely against his renowned deep delivery and open him up to different scenes which seemingly blur these days.

‘Red & Blue’ continues this slightly alternative take on rap (hate the idea there is conventional rap) but I guess you could compare this single and previous release ‘What’s Your Poison?’ to the kinda stuff Mac Wetha has been doing recently, as well as certain slowthai tracks- further down that scale fans might also dig Para Fictions stuff from a few years back.

Finn will be carrying on in his new direction but also promises not to lose some of the sounds from past releases, which hopefully will culminate together in an LP of some form.
