Stoned Again (Live)

King Krule is back and has a new live album on the way - ‘You Heat Me Up, You Cool Me Down’ - set for release on 10th September. Even in there’s no fresh tunes, it’s great to hear from Archy.

Crooning through dark, dingy corners with an understated intensity that is incomprehensibly compelling, Krule has built a reputation as one of the most engaging and vital voices in the UK industry. He’s been lauded by Kanye, Beyonce and Tyler the Creator, and it’s difficult to think of a 21st century English artist who has broken boundaries and defied the mainstream industry climate in the way Archy has.

The new live album looks set to be quite the collectors item, with hits from all 3 of his records included on the tracklist. Our first glimpse into the project comes in the shape of ‘Stoned Again’, a robust, absorbing cut which previously appeared on Krule’s most recent album, ‘Man Alive’. Come September 10th, we will be treated to further tracks from his 3rd album like ‘Underclass’ and ‘Alone, Omen 3’, as well as arty hits from ‘The Ooz’ like ‘Half Man Half Shark’, and crowd-pleasing favourites from his debut body of work like ‘Easy Easy’, ‘Baby Blue’, and ‘Out Getting Ribs’. There’s even space for ‘Rock Bottom’, an early Krule number that didn’t feature on an album, and has become somewhat of an Easter Egg to die hard fans.

I wake up every morning and long to hear new King Krule - no artist has portray emotion in such a raw, ravaging and receptive way. A live album will do… for now.
