Alternative soul artist Dessireé has unveiled her stunning new EP ‘Tell Me Y‘; a collection of delicate canvas’ that envelope the listener into her expressive declarations of self-love and personal development.

The South-East London soulstress embodies a nostalgic, jazz-infused sound, with raw, soulful vocals and layered, nuanced instrumentals the foundation for Dessireé to illustrate her impressive lyrical acumen. Her debut, self-produced single ‘Want You To Be Mine’ was released independently in the summer of 2019, with the singer-songwriter going from strength to strength since. Dessireé’s new EP, which has been funded by the British Arts Council, is an impressive and compelling body of work.

The EP is a stylised illustration of tone, texture and timbre, with Dessireé’s broodingly beautiful voice cascading through profound narratives of inward wonderment. Stand out cuts such as ‘Sway’ and ‘Unrequited’ see Dessireé at her soulful best, delivering consuming vocals and powerful narratives.

Speaking on the EP, Dessireé commented:

I wanted to create a project that is a raw and true declaration of my vulnerability and expression as a black woman. Each song is a reflection of a different character and energy I find within myself.
