The Birds

Black Josh, the Mancunian spitter drops a brand new single ‘The Birds’, fresh off the back of his Parklife performance, showing his versatility with this fiery performance.

The new track comes alongside some eerie, nocturnal visuals (directed by Honey JD) that bring to life the dark energy showcased in the instrumental and Josh’s gritty verses. With its film-style aesthetic, and trippy colour changing night sky, we see Black Josh in the forefront of the video, as he pens lyrics like ‘I’ve broken promises, but I hope my fam know I’ve got em’.

Josh is brutally honest on this track as he raps about his lifestyle, his dark side, his temper. It’s a menacing track that shows why he’s an emcee that should be held high in conversations.

Production wise, this song is like a hybrid of 2000s British rap, some old school ‘The Infamous’ era Mobb Deep, and drugged out ‘Old’ era Danny Brown, with its dark and dangerous sound. It’s a perfect match for his bold delivery and strong accent.

The Blah Records artist is one of the brightest young rappers in Manchester, and there’s definitely more down the pipeline. Keep your eye peeled for Black Josh, and check out the video here
