Walk

South London soul star Boadi (pronounced Bwer-Dee) steps back into the spotlight with ‘Walk’. The tune is the first single to drop from his upcoming EP and it was written, arranged, engineered and produced all by the man himself. Backed by gutsy live instrumentation, ‘Walk’ sees the singer reminisce on childhood strolls with his grandparents in Ghana, where mindfulness came naturally. The track’s cover art even includes an old photograph from one such summer holiday at his Grandmother’s, putting family at the forefront.

For someone who’s supported the jazz giant Moses Boyd, there’s no denying Boadi’s talent. His startling vocals climb and fall through an effortless range, whilst providing plenty of space for his musicians to showcase their skills. That being said, the solos of guitarist Charlie Moreton and trumpet player Ife Ogunjobi are elegant and emotive rather than excessive.

Walk this way for a captivating fusion of R&B, soul and jazz. Look out for Boadi’s EP on the horizon and stream 'Walk' while you do.
