When All Else Fails

House of EL has released his new EP When All Else Fails via independent label WUNDERKID, a five-track project that captures both the beauty and the breakdown of modern relationships. Known for blending soul, indie, and cinematic electronica with sharp lyrical depth, the multi-instrumentalist and producer delivers a body of work that questions empathy, truth, and connection in today’s world.

Tracks like Dirty Tricks and Say It Ain’t So highlight the tension between “truth vs. deception,” while the breezy Coda (Sunshine) and the reflective Mistakes?.. showcase his versatility. “I wanted to say something about how much we’ve drifted from empathy and truth,” he explains, noting that fan-submitted voice notes feature throughout the interludes to keep the project rooted in real experiences.

The EP follows a string of highlights for House of EL, including a COLORS support, spins across BBC Radio 1 and 6, features in Notion, and placements on Spotify UK’s New Music Friday. Behind the project is acclaimed producer Kieron McIntosh—whose credits span Becky Hill, Janelle Monáe, and Alicia Keys—shaping House of EL into one of the UK’s most inventive and socially conscious artists.
