D Double E Exclusive Bristol Show For Wingstop Lyric Battle

D Double E is bringing his unmistakable grime energy to Bristol for a one night only show at Lakota on Thursday 1 October 2026, giving students the chance to catch one of the UK scene’s most recognisable MCs in an intimate setting. With more than two decades at the heart of UK music, D Double E has built a reputation for explosive live performances, memorable bars and trademark ad libs that have become part of grime culture. From legendary pirate radio sets and freestyle sessions to his appearances on BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Fire in the Booth, his influence continues to be felt across a new generation of UK artists.

It has already been a big year for the grime veteran, with D Double E recently joining Fred again.. on stage at Alexandra Palace during the USB002 run. The show also featured a huge line up of UK talent including The Streets’ Mike Skinner, Headie One, JME, Nia Archives, Ezra Collective, Jamie T and Underworld, putting D Double E firmly among an impressive collection of artists.

The Bristol event comes with a brilliant twist, because getting through the door means proving you can sound like D Double E himself. Students across Bristol will be challenged to recreate his famous ad libs, including “bud a bup bup” and “bluku bluku”, with tickets available for those who can genuinely nail the sound. D Double E will even be heading around Bristol to test students himself and decide who deserves a last minute place.

Brought to the city by Deliveroo for Students and Wingstop, the night at Lakota will combine DJs, Wingstop food and a live performance from D Double E. With plenty of energy, iconic grime sounds and a rather unusual ticket challenge, this is shaping up to be a properly fun Bristol night. One venue, one night and one D Double E show. Let the ad libs commence.
