Would It Kill You

Los Angeles based Drag Talk bring plenty of shimmer, swagger and noise to “Would It Kill You”, a huge sounding slice of alternative rock from their upcoming debut album Drink The Ocean. Featuring musicians with ties to Grammy winning Swedish rock band Ghost, the track packs walls of guitars, soaring vocals and breakneck drums into a thrilling rush.

Jutty Taylor leads the charge with swooning vocals that float beautifully above the chaos, while the band blend 90s indie rock, shoegaze and Britpop with their hook driven dream pop style. There are flashes of Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins in the song’s punchy simplicity and dramatic dynamics, but Drag Talk give those influences their own colourful personality.

Produced by Tom Syrowski, whose credits include The Killers and Mastodon, “Would It Kill You” offers a lively taste of Drink The Ocean. With big guitars, infectious hooks and plenty of attitude, Drag Talk make nostalgia sound wonderfully fresh.
