Dirty Sister

London based multi instrumentalist Slow Han Slimsun steps into the spotlight with debut single “Dirty Sister”, introducing Mod Hop, his own fusion of 1960s British Mod melodies, blues, psychedelic rock and 90s boom bap. Bringing together the spirit of The Who, The Beatles and The Kinks with the raw blues of Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf and John Lee Hooker, the instrumental is a rebellious meeting of musical generations. Wu Tang Clan, Run DMC and Jimi Hendrix also help shape its eclectic sound, adding hip hop swagger and psychedelic fire.

Slimsun takes the DIY approach seriously, performing every instrument himself and crafting the beats on a Yamaha PSR SX600. He then produces, mixes and masters the track using a Tascam digital 8 track recorder, without samples or modern production software. Even the cover artwork is his own creation! With its gritty, handmade sound and fearless genre blending, “Dirty Sister” puts a fresh spin on London’s Mod roots, proving that sometimes, doing things differently makes all the difference.
