Digital Crates #016
This series covers the best submission tracks we have recently received and expose you to some great artists from around the world. This time we have a music video special!
Mamy Dope - Misunderstood 2
Mamy Dope provides the perfect juxtaposition with his content and sound in latest track ‘Misunderstood 2’. Mamy has taken a left turn away from his peers in the scene with an inspiring music video that demonstrates that hard UK Rap is not one-dimensional. Keeping away from the bally’s and skengs, we see the South East London rapper highlight the city with a new lens with his story as its soundtrack.
Daniel Adé - Talk
Self produced Essex rapper Daniel Ade has presented his latest offering ‘Talk’. The revolving beat and hard but not obnoxious drums are a perfect dizzy bed for Daniel’s evolving arresting flow; the lyrical content of which is a severe warning but from a very secure place, and delivered epically. Perfect in length, this track deserves more attention. It also has a beautifully rendered video, directed by none other than Jay Goodz, which adds real relativity to the artist. And if you need any more relativity, you can check out his E.P - ‘Growth’ which is out now!
Dámì Sule - Feel Like
Contemporary poet, rapper and singer Dámì Sule drops his newest piece ‘Feel Like’ produced by star studded producer AceKeyz. Encapsulated by it’s upbeat tone, ‘Feel Like’ encompasses the deeper meaning of pain. Unlike Dámì’s previous chapters, this track tackles a different approach to expressing deeper emotions by wrapping it in a catchy hook.
Static Noize - REVENGE
Only adding to the quality of the diverse rap emerging from the West coast of Australia, Static Noize are set to drop their most chilling single to date with the heart-sinking ‘Revenge’. Comprised of Siri Da Cupid and Trilla Venus, this Burundian duo have been quick to impress the world of Hip Hop. Heartbreak being the main motivation for writing this track, the duo express it through hauntingly melodic vocals over a synthesized flute and seething 808’s produced by long time collaborator Colcci.
Jerei - Paper Boy
If you’re a blunt smoker step to the side for one second - this is not your anthem. Representing South Side St. Louis is wordsmith Jerei and he’s stepping up to the plate with a bubbling smoking session joint entitled ‘paper boy’. Keeping with the quintessential bounce of the city, Jerei comes through with high energy and charisma that pulls this track into your memory bank.
