TENDERNESS

vincethealien returns with TENDERNESS, a collaboration with French producer MOTTRON that pushes his blend of alternative pop indietronica and art pop into more emotionally exposed territory. Built from clipped percussion distorted textures and stripped melodic lines the track constantly shifts between closeness and distance softness and tension never settling into comfort.

Originally started during sessions for ALL I WANTED WAS TO BE YOUR LOVER the song was later reshaped with MOTTRON who helped rebuild the demo into its final layered form while keeping its emotional core intact. The production carries echoes of early 2000s alternative and electronic music culture but feels more like memory unfolding in real time than nostalgia.

Inspired in part by Annika Hansteen Izora’s Tenderness A Black Queer Meditation on Softness and Rage the track explores vulnerability anger and intimacy as interconnected states. vincethealien frames tenderness as something difficult to ask for especially when emotional responses are uncertain.

The result is a bold reflective and slightly uneasy listen that captures the messy beauty of wanting connection while questioning if it will be returned
