Time

For most, the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns have seriously stunted futures, dreams and inspiration. But there are some who have used it wisely. Dreya Mac is one of such creatives who has taken advantage of this time to develop a sound and audience online, which is now seeing her flourish.

Her latest drop ‘Time’ earnt her a spot on the much-revered COLORS Youtube channel, for a joyous 2 or so minutes of almost conversational barring. Starting her journey as a performance dancer and touring with the likes of Dua Lipa and Rita Ora, Dreya Mac’s sound is best described as quintessentially London; her accent and frequent cultural nods resonating with all those whom she shares the city with.

Her debut single ‘Skippin’ was released just over a year ago and has already garnered over 350,000 streams on Spotify, which Dreya thinks is partly down to increased internet usage during the first lockdown, but I think she is just being modest.

Yet to drop a full album, ‘Time’ is the fourth instalment of the West London emcees discography and is only furthering the lust for a full length Dreya Mac project, or at the very least a date for our diaries.
