I Want To Go Out Tonight

Irish born, Perth based artist Liam Naughton returns with I Want To Go Out Tonight, a bright and emotionally charged indie rock single from Liam Naughton and The Educators. Written by Naughton but told through a female voice, the song explores the restless urge to escape heartbreak and chase connection after a long night indoors. Inspired partly by his daughter’s love of Prince’s If I Was Your Girlfriend, the track balances honesty with playful curiosity.

After rebuilding his creative process in 2024, Naughton recorded vocals, acoustic guitar, piano, and MIDI parts in his home studio before collaborating with Melbourne guitarist Cameron Hayes and producer Pat Carre at Artisan Music Studios. The result feels warm, energetic, and refreshingly human, blending ninety style guitar textures with modern production. His catalogue includes Cornerstone EP, Leaning In LP, and Cut On a Cut EP, alongside a UK Indie Chart number one for Promise Cross.
