Jairic in London – O2 Academy Islington, September 17
Detroit born, Cannes based rapper, producer and performer Jairic is bringing his cinematic take on hip hop to London’s O2 Academy Islington on September 17, where he will join Brooklyn legend AZ for an exclusive night connecting hip hop history with a fresh international voice.
Jairic’s sound blends raw hip hop, sharp storytelling and cinematic production, creating music that feels built for both headphones and the big screen. Influenced by Nas and Eminem, his creative world pulls from family, global travel, different cultures, film and art. His 2025 EP n=40 showcased that approach across tracks including “Don’t Let Me Put A Track On You,” “Young, Old, Short & Tall” and “Still AF Gospel.”
“Don’t Let Me Put A Track On You” has already enjoyed an impressive remix journey. French electronic duo Krono gave the track their own spin before Australian dance duo NERVO turned it into a high energy techno banger. NERVO later performed the remix on the Tomorrowland Belgium 2026 Mainstage in front of an estimated 40,000 festivalgoers, giving Jairic’s music another serious international moment.
His live shows promise plenty of theatrical energy too, with previous exclusive performances at Château Les Alouettes in Cannes and Villa Balbiano on Lake Como, alongside a featured live appearance at the Paris premiere of the short film “Azur.” With Jairic writing, producing and performing his own music, there is a clear sense of creative control behind the spectacle.
Sharing the stage with AZ makes the London date even more exciting. AZ rose from Brooklyn’s golden era rap scene and gained international recognition through his appearance on Nas’ landmark 1994 album Illmatic, contributing a verse and hook to “Life’s a Bitch.” His 1995 solo debut Doe or Die featured the gold certified “Sugar Hill”, while his work with The Firm helped The Album reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
With 30 years of Doe or Die to celebrate, London is set for a meeting of rap legacy, cinematic ambition and international energy.
