Soulection 2026 Review

Soulection brought serious energy to Greenwich Peninsula as part of the opening weekend of Magazine Open Air, celebrating 15 years of the influential global music platform with a London experience that felt every bit as special as the occasion deserved. With more than 30,000 guests attending across three shows, 24 artists and 22 hours of music, the wider weekend was already a major statement, but Soulection brought its own flavour to the party.

Set against the River Thames and London skyline, Magazine Open Air provided the perfect backdrop for a celebration built around music, community and discovery. Soulection has spent 15 years blurring the boundaries between R&B, soul, hip hop, electronic music and everything in between, and that adventurous spirit was all over the experience. This was not simply a crowd turning up for a few big names. It felt like a community coming together to celebrate a platform that has helped shape the sound of a generation.

The bespoke outdoor stage and world class production made sure the music took centre stage, while the carefully engineered sound kept things crisp across the dancefloor. As the sun dropped over London, the atmosphere only got better, with the skyline providing a seriously impressive backdrop for those sunset moments.

The wider weekend also delivered some memorable appearances, with reggae legend Wayne Wonder and celebrated South London singer Sasha Keable adding their talents to the festivities. Odeal and Central Cee were also spotted enjoying the experience, proving that even the artists had plenty of reasons to stick around and soak it all in.

What really stood out was the balance between celebration and discovery. Soulection may have been marking 15 years, but there was nothing overly nostalgic about the experience. Instead, it felt energetic, forward thinking and completely alive. Magazine Open Air itself is designed around the idea of Music With A New Perspective, and Soulection seemed like a perfect match.

With its mixture of sounds, impressive production, London views and genuinely buzzing crowd, the Soulection Experience showed exactly why the platform has remained such an important force in global music culture. Fifteen years in, Soulection is clearly still having fun, and thankfully, London was invited to the party.
