Kryptik and Wends bring serious energy to “Take Mine”, an uplifting Drum N Bass cut that wastes no time getting the party started. The Paisley patter merchant and 2x SAMA nominee steps out from behind the production desk and onto the mic, encouraged by world class vocalist Wends, and the result is seriously lively.

Rising through the UK Sound System scene since 2022, Glasgow’s Wends brings reggae inspired toasting, soulful vocals and rapid, lyrically complex bars to the track. Her genre fluid style stretches across Dub, Reggae, Hip Hop, 140, Garage, Drum N Bass, Jungle and Latin Dance, making her the perfect partner for Kryptik’s energetic production.

There is plenty of fun here, but “Take Mine” also tackles the pressure artists face to constantly release music in the age of algorithms and quick dopamine hits. Already supported by BBC Introducing in Scotland and RINSE/SWU FM, Kryptik and Wends prove that slowing down creatively can sometimes produce something worth turning up.
